Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management:
Maintain and optimize cloud and physical server infrastructures to ensure high performance, security, and reliability for the Astralium Virtual Worlds ecosystem. Monitor server performance and uptime, ensuring 24/7 availability.System Installation & Configuration:
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, networks, and other essential systems to ensure seamless operation across different environments, including VR and gaming infrastructure.Network Security:
Implement and manage network security protocols to safeguard systems from cyber threats. Perform regular vulnerability assessments and apply necessary security patches to maintain system integrity and prevent downtime.Backup & Recovery:
Design, implement, and test data backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity in case of system failures or security breaches.Troubleshooting & Support:
Provide technical support for internal teams, quickly identifying and resolving any system or network issues. Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, ensuring minimal disruption to game operations.Performance Monitoring:
Regularly monitor the performance of servers, systems, and databases to ensure they are functioning optimally. Implement performance tuning strategies to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.Collaboration with Development Teams:
Work closely with the game developers and other departments to ensure that the underlying infrastructure supports the evolving needs of the Astralium Virtual World, especially as it grows in complexity.Documentation:
Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, network architecture, and system maintenance procedures. Create clear and concise reports on system performance and any changes made to infrastructure.Automation & Scripting:
Automate system administration tasks where possible, using tools and scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell, to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.Cloud Services Management:
Manage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) used to host the Astralium Virtual Worlds and its associated services. Ensure cloud infrastructure is set up for scalability, load balancing, and resource allocation as needed.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
- Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role in IT, with a strong background in managing servers and network systems.
- Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) and virtualization technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of network security practices, firewalls, VPNs, and secure communication protocols.
- Hands-on experience with server operating systems (Linux, Windows Server) and server hardware.
- Ability to configure and manage server environments, databases, and applications.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Familiarity with system automation, scripting, and monitoring tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Nagios).
- Knowledge of performance monitoring tools and the ability to optimize system performance.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking, storage, and database systems.
